Foreigners – Forasteras 4

2 Bronze units and approx. 140,000 fallen pine needles; dimensions variable.

These pieces address the notion of belonging.

Two monumental bronze replicas of pine needles and approx. 140,000 fallen pine needles conveying the concept of the foreign, the introduced.

Through my ongoing use of pine needles, the work investigates the links between the individual and the group; the ties that bind us together.

Being from an introduced species and leaning on each other, the pine needles function as a metaphor of the concept of migration, and explore the notions of human identity and belonging.
